A Reflection on 5 Years

As I reflect about Lila East End Yoga rounding its fifth year in business, I humbly hold the title of “studio owner. ”  For me, Lila is held and led by the community – the community of students, yogis, teachers, friends, and family. If not for all of you sharing your practice, your teachings, and your willingness to keep coming, Lila would not be where it is today. I sincerely thank all of you for your willingness to keep showing up on your mat. Thank you for having the courage to ride the waves of your own life, the lila, and maintain a dedicated practice.

The brief minutes we have when checking folks into class, I learn all sorts of incredible things about those who share their practice amongst the brick- and wood-paneled walls. We are a community of artists, healers, parents, doctors, film producers, poets, directors, athletes, and life-long students.

Thanks to your curiosity to keep learning, Lila has welcomed international teachers to share their knowledge in our quaint space. We have raised hundreds of dollars for charities near and far. We began our first teacher training this year.  We have laughed, some of us cried, tumbled, sweat, and discovered balance.

Together we have created the unique and evolving community of Lila East End Yoga. Thank you for helping this sacred space become what it is today and what it will be tomorrow. Let us together continue on a path that awakens our best selves.

Celebrate with Lila! We have a summer stocked full of so many fun things to spice up your practice. To begin, this month we will be offering a crazy special sale on our monthly unlimited passes, two months of unlimited yoga for the price of one ($130)!  And, to boot, with that pass you can dive into the added offerings of Bowspring and morning yoga classes.

Todd Glacy is coming back and sharing his beautiful gong meditation offering.  Saturday, June 13, step into the current of the deep, resonant sounds.

Often there is just not enough time before class to catch up with all the incredibly interesting people in the space, so we wanted to carve out time for more community connection. Join us on Saturday, June 27, for our first community potluck, followed by the inspiring movie I AM.

July is festive and full. Join Genell and Margo, as well as many other great teachers, at the Maine Yoga Fest July 10-12, and Yoga Sail is back!  Jen and Genell will both be teaching aboard the Maine Sailing Adventures deck. Join us for a beautiful sail in Casco Bay, practice en plein air, and sail back enjoying good company and light snacks.

To top off the summer, one of the most inspiring teachers in the United States is coming to town! Help us welcome Desiree Rumbaugh for a weekend to reconnect to your deep source of love, to play, and to move deep into your practice.

The boards are stocked full, the options many. Thank you for continuing to keep these great offerings coming.

With deep gratitude, namaste.
